Manufactured Love: Character Bible

Reference-sheet rules (v0.3)

1. Identity references show worn items only: hair, face, body, clothes, shoes, jewelry, eyewear, headphones on the neck. Nothing is held. Hands are empty and relaxed. A prop in the reference becomes a prop in every shot.
2. Lanyards, badges, radios, earpieces, phones, folders, trays, notebooks, sticky notes, cue cards are shot props: named per shot in the storyboard, never in the identity block.
3. Ancestry is stated explicitly for every character. "Light tanned skin" alone drifts.
4. The plate matches the outfit and the job: crew on a neutral studio grey for identity, then villa daylight and control-room night plates; contestants on the villa pool terrace in daylight; the host on the fire-pit set at night.
5. Every full-sheet character gets three candid action frames in their working environment, full body, for b-roll and for image-to-video starts.
6. Contestants are model-level attractive: gym-fit, glowing skin, professionally groomed, swimwear-campaign look. The cast reads as a real 2026 Love Island lineup: white, Black, Latino, mixed, Asian, Middle Eastern, mostly white as the shows actually are.
7. No white tank tops on anyone (Daniel, 2026-09-04). Men wear open camp shirts, linen shirts, tees, or nothing over swim shorts where the model allows; women wear a mix of bikinis with sarongs, wrap skirts, crochet and sheer cover-ups, and kimonos, never twelve bare bikinis.
8. Cast promo fronts are shot on location at the villa (Too Hot to Handle and Love Island UK style: hard sun, flash fill, full body), not on a studio sky backdrop.
9. Backgrounds in identity references may be plain; anything used as a location plate must read as a photograph, not a render. Location prompts come from bible/locations.md.

Trailer roster

Sunburn season 3 cast: 12 singles, 6 men (Theo, Luca, Tommy, Nate, Colton, Rafe) and 6 women (Jules, Skye, Maddie, Harper, Bianca, Zara). Skye enters as the bombshell.

1. Dana Kessler: Showrunner / Executive Producer

• Role: showrunner, Kindling Media. Twenty years in unscripted; started on suitor-and-roses shows in the 2000s.

2. Marcus Bell: Senior Story Producer (lead)

• Role: runs the story department and voices The Shade from the gallery.
• Ancestry: Black American, Atlanta; dark brown skin.
• Age 36. Build 6'2", broad shoulders, V-taper, easy posture. Lead sex appeal: gym-built, groomed, magnetic.
• Face: long, high cheekbones, close-cropped beard, wide smile.
• Hair: shaved head.

3. Priya Raman: Villa Producer (the handler)

• Role: on the floor with the contestants all day. The one they trust. Writes the hot sheet.
• Ancestry: British Indian, Tamil family, south London; medium brown skin, tanned.
• Age 31. Build 5'4", slight, athletic, quick. Very attractive: toned, freckled, sun-flushed.
• Face: heart-shaped, large dark eyes, freckles across the nose, small gold nose stud on her left.
• Hair: long black hair in a high ponytail, damp at the temples by afternoon.
• Worn (reference): khaki utility vest worn open #8A7D5A over a fitted white ribbed cropped tank #FFFFFF, espresso bike shorts #22201C, brown leather slide sandals, thin gold anklet, a single flesh-tone earbud with no cable.
• Shot props: radio holstered at the left hip; contestants' show phones in coral cases (one or two, in a vest pocket).

• Arc: loves them, and does it anyway.

4. Gwen Achterberg: Casting Director

• Role: cast all three seasons of Sunburn. Reads psych evaluations for opportunity.
• Ancestry: white, Dutch-American, New Jersey; pale skin, flushed cheeks.
• Age 52. Build 5'7", stocky, planted.
• Face: square jaw, heavy-lidded eyes, red lipstick #B0102A, thick red acetate glasses, worn.
• Hair: cropped platinum blonde, almost white, brushed up.

• Chair line: "Stable people don't apply. Give me a girl whose dad left."
• Sin: reads a flag aloud from a folder. Cut to three singles: "Perfect." "Perfect." "Perfect."
• Arc: the origin sin.

5. Sam Okafor: Edit Producer

• Role: story producer in post. Builds the stringouts. The Frankenbite artist.
• Ancestry: British Nigerian, Yoruba family, Peckham; dark brown skin.
• Age 33. Build 5'10", slim, slight desk hunch.
• Face: narrow, thin round wire glasses, neat short beard, calm eyes.
• Hair: a very short neat fade with a crisp hairline, under half an inch. (Locs rendered loose twice; short twists rendered long once; the fade is the lock.)
• Worn (reference): charcoal heather hoodie #3B3B3B with a tiny illegible chest mark, grey joggers #6E6E6E, black slides over white socks, over-ear headphones around the neck.
• Shot props: edit keyboard, three monitors, cold coffee.

6. Brooke Lindqvist: VP Unscripted, Bulu

• Role: the network. Day-one visit in person; afterwards a Zoom tile and a speakerphone.
• Ancestry: white, Swedish-American, Los Angeles; fair skin, spray-tan warm.
• Age 38. Build 5'8", athletic, upright, pilates-toned. Attractive and polished.
• Face: symmetrical, very white teeth, bright fixed smile, light contour, glossy lip.
• Hair: long blonde blowout with a center part.
• Worn (reference, Zoom and office): jade green quarter-zip fleece #00B37E, zip at mid-sternum, over a white crew tee #FFFFFF, delicate gold necklace, white earbuds, slim black trousers.

• Never change: center-part blowout; earbuds; white tee.
• Action frames: (1) ring-lit at a desk in a glass office, laptop open, mid-sentence on a call; (2) on the villa terrace on day one in the blazer, sticky-note pad in hand, being shown the monitor wall; (3) walking a car park to a black SUV, phone to her ear.
• Voice: bright, corporate, weaponized vagueness. Voice Design: "woman late thirties, bright upbeat soprano, polished corporate warmth, California accent, upward inflection, friendly and vague."
• Signature line: "I'm not saying villain. I'm saying I need to see more Jules."
• Sin: sticky note on Jules's headshot on day one.
• Arc: nothing she says is a note.

7. Kaya Morales: Production Assistant, week one

• Role: first job in television. Runs food, drinks, laundry, and contestants. The audience surrogate.
• Ancestry: Mexican-American, San Antonio; light brown skin, sunburned nose and cheeks.
• Age 25 and reads mid-to-late twenties: a tired adult, two years out of college, first TV job. Never rendered younger; two v2 sheets read as a child or teenager and were thrown out. Build 5'5", slim, always moving. Plain on purpose; locked against styling notes.
• Face: round with a defined adult jaw, dark heavy-lidded eyes, faint crow's feet and under-eye shadows, no makeup, a tiny pale healed scar line on the chin (never a fresh cut; the first sheets drew blood).
• Hair: dark brown curls in a messy bun with a pencil through it.
• Worn (reference): faded black crew T-shirt #2B2B2B, olive cargo shorts #5C6B4A, grey running shoes. Headphones are a shot prop (they read as a school kid in the identity reference).
• Shot props: a small handheld two-way radio clipped to her belt, too big for her frame; green badge on a black lanyard (front views only); a tray of full champagne flutes; a green bottle decanted below frame.
• Never change: bun with pencil; sunburned nose; olive cargos. Her look never changes across the trailer.
• Closer lock: the glass top-up is hand and bottle only, below frame. No face, no reaction shot.
• Action frames: (1) hurrying along the pool terrace with a tray of full flutes; (2) sitting on a crew crate outside the magic pantry eating from a foil tray; (3) standing at the crew-side kitchen pass-through, handing a plate through the hatch.

8. Dev Chandrasekhar: Head of Welfare

• Role: duty-of-care lead and on-set psychologist. Muted on most calls.
• Ancestry: British Indian, Punjabi family, Birmingham; South Asian features, medium brown skin, dark brown eyes, prominent nose. (The first v2 sheet rendered him East Asian and was thrown out.)
• Age 41. Build 5'9", soft, tired shoulders.
• Face: kind tired dark brown eyes, thin-rimmed rectangular glasses, salt-and-pepper short beard.
• Hair: short black hair with grey at the temples, side part.
• Worn (reference): pale blue oxford shirt, sleeves rolled #BFD7EA, khaki chinos #C2B280, brown loafers.
• Shot props: blue badge on a lanyard (front views only); a laminated card; a laptop with a muted Zoom tile.

Seen only through the machine. All model-level attractive. Wardrobe is villa swimwear by day; fire-pit outfits by night are noted where they matter.

9. Jules Marchetti: 26, dental hygienist, Tampa

• Ancestry: white, Italian-American; light skin with a deep golden tan, freckled shoulders.
• Build 5'6", hourglass, gym-toned, very attractive. Face: heart-shaped, wide smile with dimples, green eyes, full brows. Hair: long auburn waves.

15. Tommy Doyle: 26, electrician, Dublin

• Build 5'11", rugby-fit, very attractive in a lad way. Face: cheeky grin, dimple, light stubble. Hair: strawberry-blond short crop, textured on top.

• Ancestry: Brazilian, mixed African-Portuguese; warm brown skin.
• Build 5'6", dancer's body, very attractive. Face: full lips, arched brows, brown eyes. Hair: long dark curls.
• Worn: emerald green bikini #0F9D58 with a sheer emerald sarong, gold body chain. Never change: dark curls; emerald.
• Action frame: dancing on the terrace at night, others clapping, string lights above.

17. Nate Kowalski: 29, personal trainer, Chicago

• Ancestry: white Polish-American; fair skin, tanned.
• Build 6'2", tall and gym-built, very attractive, all-American. Face: square jaw, blue eyes, white smile. Hair: dark blond, short, side-swept.

18. Zara Haddad: 24, law graduate, London

• Ancestry: Lebanese-British; olive skin, tanned.
• Build 5'5", slim, very attractive. Face: dark almond eyes, defined brows, sharp jaw. Hair: long straight dark hair, center part.
• Worn: burnt orange bikini #CC5500 under a long sheer kimono cover-up, gold arm cuff. Never change: long straight dark hair; burnt orange.

19. Colton Reyes: 29, firefighter, Phoenix

20. Rafe Hollis: 30, "founder," Miami

• Ancestry: white American; tanned, smooth.
• Build 5'11", lean, gym-lean, attractive but cold. Face: smug, small smile. Hair: slicked-back dark.
• Worn: black swim shorts #111111, black short-sleeve shirt buttoned to the sternum, collar closed, only the top button open, oversized watch. Never change: slicked hair; all black. Identity plate is the daytime terrace like every other contestant; the fire pit is his action frame only.
• Action frame: at the fire pit at night, checking his reflection in a phone screen.

Host

21. Tilly Marsh: 39, host of Sunburn

• Ancestry: white British, Essex; fair skin, tanned.
• Build 5'8", very attractive, host glamour. Face: sculpted, big lashes, collarbone highlighter. Hair: sleek straight black, center part.
• Worn (one look, day and night, Daniel 2026-09-04): aqua-teal triangle bikini #2EC4C6, fine gold body chain, white chiffon wrap skirt knotted at the waist #FFFFFF, gold strappy heels, gold hoops. No dresses.
• Action frame: standing on the host mark at the fire pit at night in the same look with cue cards while a crew member adjusts a softbox behind her, cast seats empty.

Relationships

• Dana runs Marcus. Marcus runs Priya and Sam. Gwen answers to Dana and drinks with Marcus.
• Brooke calls Dana. Dana translates Brooke for Marcus. Nobody says "villain."
• Kaya reports to Priya. Priya likes her. Priya teaches her to ice.
• Dev reports to Dana on paper and to nobody in practice. Muted.
• Jules trusts Priya. Theo trusts nobody and falls for Jules anyway. Skye is aimed at Theo by Marcus through Priya.
• Two-shots worth a shared frame: Marcus and Priya; Priya and Kaya; Jules and Theo. Never more than three named faces in one generated frame.

Voice casting plan (Phase 7)

One ElevenLabs Voice Design voice per production character, saved to a named slot, reused on every line. Contestants get no cast voice except one line from Jules through The Shade feed and one from Maddie, both designed the same way.

Changelog

• Reference-sheet rules added. Held props and lanyards moved out of identity blocks into shot props for every character.
• Ancestry stated explicitly for every character. Jules is white Italian-American; Tilly is white British.
• Cast expanded from 6 to 12 contestants with six new: Harper, Luca, Tommy, Bianca, Nate, Zara. Colton and Rafe reinstated as b-roll with light sheets. Contestant descriptions rewritten to model-level attractive.
• Three action frames per full-sheet character, one per light sheet, for b-roll and video starts.
• Plates fixed: Tilly on the fire-pit set at night; Brooke's fleece confined to the LA office with a linen blazer for the villa visit.
• Kaya's tray holds full flutes.
